A unique opportunity for students who’ve completed the Venture Team program to apply their learnings to the startup and venture capital world

Overview

Graduates of the V-Team program have the chance to further their experience by working with startups and VC firms. Members have the chance to work on real projects as a team.

Beyond valuable technical experience, Post-Mentorship is important to the bonds we form as a community.

What to expect

This program is a great opportunity for underclassmen who are interested in gaining practical experience in the startup and VC industries.

  • Recruiting & interview mentorship
  • Team projects (industry deep dives, due diligence)
  • Internal projects (podcast, outreach, writing)
  • Community bonding

Work opportunities

Our opportunities are subject to change to best support our members' interests and skills. These are some common projects we have worked with companies on: 

1) Sourcing investment

We assist partners in the sourcing process, from lead generation to further diligence, analysis, and investment recommendations.

2) Industry deep dives

We provide partners with in-depth industry research, leveraging NYU databases and our own students’ insights.

3) Startup assistance

We assist in strategic initiatives for portfolio companies of our partner VCs as well as partnered startups.

Post-Mentorship FAQs

What type of community events do members get to attend?

Retreats, socials, and agora talks.Our VTeam and Post members attend SVS retreats and socials, providing an excellent opportunity to bond with the rest of the community.
The Agora Talk is an SVS tradition where each Post member presents on a topic of their choosing (mostly unserious) to continue the cycle of teaching & learning.  

Can I join post mentorship directly?

No, you must complete Venture Team.Throughout the VTeam program, we teach you the necessary skills so you can be assigned to project teams after you graduate the program. This is so we can ensure both work and community quality!

What are the benefits of Post?

Client projects, internships, community bondingPost is an important part of what keeps the SVS community alive and we love our members' involvement. Members are assigned to project teams each semester, where they work with clients & firms. These projects open up opportunities for internships and for networking.
